Regular breaks from caring are important.

It can be a difficult decision to seek respite. However research shows breaks help relieve the emotional stress and physical exhaustion carers may feel.  Breaks help to lift your spirits and also benefit the person being cared for.  They meet new people; have new experiences and something to look forward to.

Whether you need an occasional or regular break for a few hours, one day, over night or longer respite options are available.

Respite availability and flexibility varies locally as do waiting list and entry criteria.
